The Valve Whisperer
SAM VALVE MANAGEMENT is a SAM SERVICES application for the smart diagnostics of control valves installed in process plants. It provides a complete overview of all valves fitted with smart SAMSON positioners along with clearly structured valve and plant reports including all relevant messages and recommended action.
The Brain
The FOCUS-1 smart process node combines the sensor, control valve and process control functions in one unit. It is the first product launched by the FOCUS-ON joint venture established by KROHNE and SAMSON. FOCUS-1 measures the flow rate in a pipeline and positions the valve to achieve the target values. Thanks to its integrated smart features, FOCUS-1 knows its current state and can predict future conditions. It is capable of learning and can adapt to applications. As a result, FOCUS-1 can also be virtually represented as a digital twin. This allows FOCUS-1 to continue operating in the event of sensor failure based comparable, known data logged in the past.
The Predictor
SAM GUARD, SAMSON's predictive monitoring and diagnostics system, detects failures before they actually happen. SAM GUARD combines artificial intelligence (AI) with human experience and plant know-how (human-enhanced machine learning) to maximize the availability, performance and productivity of your plant.
The Networker
Positioners became key elements at the field level with the onset of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0. On this basis, the new Ethernet-APL industry standard promises to unleash its full potential: fast communication, proven two-wire installation and use in hazardous areas. The same holds true for SAMSON's TROVIS 3797 Positioners with PROFINET® communication. They work with Ethernet-APL technology and exchanges data 300 times faster than with today's fieldbus protocols.
The Reliable
One of the many options of using axial valves is to install them as anti-surge valves in rotary compressors in the liquefaction process to transform natural gas into LNG. To protect the compressors, anti-surge valves must open very quickly and let down the pressure at the outlet side. This is why the valves need to have a fast response while allowing for a high flow capacity and low-noise operation. The Type 3599 Axial Globe Valve has all these features.
The Accurate
The diaphragm valves by SAMSON SED installed in the disinfectant dosing plant are used in the production of pharmaceutical and sterile products, mainly for isolating pipelines, dosing, draining, feeding, sampling, distributing and mixing process media. Other applications include cleaning, such as SIP and CIP.
The Rotator
The Maxifluss Rotary Plug Valves have a double-eccentric plug, which moves away from the seat without any friction as soon as it opens. The valves are designed with an optimized flow contour to permit high flow rates. The high KVS coefficient and control ratio of 200:1 make the valves suitable for a wide range of applications. Thanks to the double-eccentric design of the rotary plug, the full cross-section of flow is released leaving the flow path unobstructed.
